We did our annual Griswold-thing today and put the Christmas lights up. New this year are the Santa and Reindeer on the porch and a cool little Elf with gifts on the front lawn. Heidi did a new system for putting lights on the trees this year that is really nice. Here’s some pictures!

The White House Comes Through

When Charlotte was born we sent an announcement to the Bush White House and they sent back a wonderful letter of congratulations within a month. We did the same thing when Eleanor arrived, but apparently the Obama White House up until now has been busy with other tasks too “important” to respond! Today we got a very nice letter of congratulations from President and Mrs. Obama, and we are grateful for it. The card reads: “Welcome to the world! Your arrival is a cause for great celebration for your proud family. We wish you a long and happy life filled with chances to learn, ideas to explore, people to love, and dreams to fulfill. Sincerely, Barack and Michelle Obama.”
