OK, so we haven’t been so good at updating this page lately, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been hard at work. We’re proud to announce Browndepot Mobile, starting today. When you visit our site from your Blackberry, iPhone, or other mobile browser, you’ll get a nice streamlined view of our site. Check it out and let us know if it’s working for you!

Huh? Not sure what that headline means? Don’t worry, it’s not that important. The big news here is that we’ve switched to a new blogging platform. Heidi has been slaving over the computer most of the day getting the new version of the site setup (I threatened to post a picture of her feeding Eleanor with one arm and typing on the computer with the other, but thought better of it). Anyway, what this should mean for our loyal fans moving forward is that there should be lots more interesting features and more better photo/video management on our site in the future. In the short-term, commenting should be significantly improved, so if you like a story or a picture, or even if you don’t, we hope you’ll let us know!
If you see something really broken, please let us know that too. We think this system should serve us well for a long time, but it may take a little while to work out the kinks.

It was time to update the header to include our newest member of our family, and I thought it was appropriate to also go back to our ‘brown’ roots. Let me know what you think.

If all goes as planned, we’re about 24 hours way from meeting the newest addition to our family! Early tomorrow, we’ll set out against the traditional March snow (right) and make our way to the hospital.
Now you may be asking yourself, how will I find out all the exciting news? I’m glad you asked, because that’s what this post is all about.
The first wave of news will come in the little box on the left hand side of our page called “Pat’s Mini Blog”. That box is connected to my Twitter feed, and I’ll be making occasional posts there over the next few days. That’s probably where the vital statistics will be posted, along with the first announcement of a name. For those unfamiliar with Twitter, I can post to that box with a text from my phone.
Later in the day as time allows, I’ll post more to this blog, and hopefully be able to add photos pretty quickly, and maybe even video. We’ll just have to see how the day progresses.
Anyway, we’re all looking forward to meeting this new one. We hope you’ll enjoy reading all about her!
