Big Adventure on the Peninsula

We had a terrific weekend over on the Olympic Peninsula! Saturday morning we woke up plenty early and drove up to Sequim, where we were the first guests of the day at the Olympic Game Farm.
Peacocks are all over the place here.

A slice of bread will attract the animals to come stick their heads right in your car!

Although Stephen Colbert has often declared bears to be the greatest threat to America today, but these bears are more like big, lazy dogs.

The Bison are a little nerve racking though as you weave your car around these huge beasts!

The antlers on these deer aren't nearly as imposing as those on the elk toward the end of the tour

After the game park, we made the drive up to Hurricane Ridge at the Olympic National Park. The top is over 5000 feet above sea level. It was a little cloudy, but the views were amazing regardless.

Nice shots. What kind of lenses did you use? Are you using auto functions or are you doing it all? Go get 'em chief!

Hey who posted this? I'm shooting with the awesome new 18-200 VR lens my family bought me for Father's Day this year. Most of the shots were in some form of auto exposure time, I like to select my own f-stop.

Miss Charlotte

Some of her favorite new words: Mine, Mine and Mine. She is actually getting Charlotte down, it comes out 'arlotte' mostly, but she'll get there. There's the cute, shoulder shrug with "what happened". "Yellow" which she overly pronounces and there's always a little attitude with it. She knows 'shoes' which she tried on each of her few pairs of shoes today multiple times... a girl's gotta find the right shoe with the outfit, no doubt! ;) And Mommy's favorite, we were working on "i love you" today, which she's getting down!
